Lynn Uveges, Director/Lead Nurse
As Director of Clinical Operations at Comprehensive Homecare LLC, Lynn Uveges RN
brings many years of nursing experience along with her compassion for the patients
she serves. Lynn started her nursing career in 1980 after graduating from Shapiro
School of Nursing at Sinai Hospital with a practical nursing diploma. Lynn furthered
her education by attending Wayne County Community College and the University of
New York Regents receiving an associate’s degree in nursing. And this year Lynn
will receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Detroit-Mercy.
Lynn has worked in many facets of healthcare over the past 30 years. Starting as
an aide at Rivergate Convalescent Center on Riverview, Michigan, Lynn strengthened
her knowledge with her first nursing job in the intensive care unit at Wyandotte
Hospital. The next fifteen years were spent as staff nurse in the intensive care
setting, including the emergency room. These experiences allowed Lynn to develop
critical thinking skills and leadership skills.
Ms. Uveges found her nursing passion when she was introduced to the field of case
management fifteen years ago. Lynn feels that case management is one of the most
important aspects of nursing care that can be provided to patients. “Patients need
advocates to help guide them through our current health system in the United States
and every nurse is a case manager, an advocate”.
As case manager at a large hospital, Lynn worked in all areas of the hospital including
oncology, cardiology, ICU step down, mental health and emergency room. Quality core
measures for pneumonia and COPD patients in the hospital setting afforded Lynn further
insight into quality monitoring. Lynn has also worked with a physician’s nursing
home group, a Medicare Advantage insurance company, a skilled homecare company and
as an admission coordinator for a local assisted living/skilled nursing center.
Lynn is an active member of the Home Healthcare Nurses Association and Case Management
Society of America. Home health care is another extension of Lynn’s career that
allows her to grow as a nurse and manager.
